Blue Dog at the Beach — Stray Dogs of Nicaragua (Peta Kaplan)
Painted in cool blues against a pale, sea-washed haze, this dog stands alert with its head lowered — a solitary figure on an empty shore, poised between stillness and motion.
An original oil painting by Peta Kaplan, from a series painted during the five years she and Ben made their home in the colonial city of Granada, Nicaragua.
The streets were full of strays, and Peta didn't only paint them — she cared for them, volunteering at the local clinic and serving on an emergency response team for animals that were wounded or abandoned. Printed on gallery-wrapped canvas with mirrored edges, ready to hang.
Part of the Green Global Trek collection — Stray Dogs of Nicaragua, painted on location in Granada.
