Barely There Stray — Stray Dogs of Nicaragua (Peta Kaplan) - Canvas

Barely more than pencil and a wash of paint, a stray so lightly rendered it seems half-dissolved, present and not-present at once.

This is an original painting from Peta Kaplan's Stray Dogs of Nicaragua — a series of large oil paintings of the street dogs she came to know over the five years she and Ben made their home in the colonial city of Granada. She didn't only paint them; she cared for them, volunteering at the local clinic and on an emergency response team for animals that were hurt or abandoned. Each dog is met as an individual. 

We commit 25% of the profit from this collection to dog rescue work. We have not yet finalised a partner organisation, so that money is set aside until we do. Full detail is on our About page.
