Pale Passage — Stray Dogs of Nicaragua (Peta Kaplan) - Canvas

Loosely brushed and nearly weightless, a pale figure crosses bands of ochre and rust, more suggestion than outline — a fleeting street-corner glimpse held in paint.

An original oil painting by Peta Kaplan, from a series painted during the five years she and Ben made their home in the colonial city of Granada, Nicaragua.

The streets were full of strays, and Peta didn't only paint them — she cared for them, volunteering at the local clinic and serving on an emergency response team for animals that were wounded or abandoned. Printed on gallery-wrapped canvas with mirrored edges, ready to hang.

Part of the Green Global Trek collection — Stray Dogs of Nicaragua, painted on location in Granada.
